Hi there! I'm Kenneth N. Canoy, a Grade-9 student in Liceo De Cagayan University. Here is my reaction for the movie "Noah" starring Russel Crowe as the bible character Noah along with the hottie Logan Lerman as Ham <3, and other stars such as Emma Watson, Douglas Booth, and etc.
From the beginning till the end, the movie was pretty exciting. At first, I expected it to be like that of the original story that was written in the first book of the bible Genesis. Yet, there were twists and a few things that were new to me. In the film, there were these beings called "Watchers" who were once angels that descended from heaven with the intention to help mankind. By descending to earth and leaving their heavenly home above, they disobeyed the creator (God) and as punishment, when they arrived on earth they had the bodies which were made that of rocks. The bible also talks about fallen angels; but unlike in the film, these angels were evil and selfish. They descended from heaven and took on human bodies to be able to marry the beautiful daughters of men. Because of this, they produced offspring that were superhumans. Giants that were known as Nephilims. These giants were bullies, they beat up people and soon after, humans began imitating their bad actions; including children. Earth that time was filled with violence and wickedness which is why God decided to wipe out wicked humans by a great flood.
In the bible, it says there that eight people were saved by the ark: Noah and his wife, their three sons and their sons' wives. In the film however, Ham (Logan Lerman) had no wife because Na'el (Madison Javenport), Ham's potential love interest in the story, died because Noah refused to save her. I admit, that part for me was very sad :( . Not only that, Ham tried to take sides between his father Noah (Russel Crowe) and the main antagonist in the story Samyaza (Nick Nolte). The climax of the movie was pretty messy, even terrifying, especially when Noah tried to kill her own granddaughters; I didn't see that one coming. One more thing, unlike the Noah in the bible who warned and preached other people about the coming flood, the Noah in the movie didn't want other people know about the ark and the coming flood; honestly, I think that was kind of selfish. Also, the original story didn't have any fights and wars cause the Noah there was a peaceable man. Also, about Methuselah, Noah's grandfather in the story, I haven't read about him in the original story but I do know that he was a grandfather of Noah; He is also known to be the man who had the longest and biggest number of age, 969, recorded in the bible.
Well, those are the few things I could say about the film and the few things that I wasn't able to read in the original story that was recorded at Genesis. What makes me really sad is that in the ending part where Ham leaves and travels alone away from his family. *I could imagine him walking in the surface of the earth alone. I wish I could be with him <3, wait, what?! ok, nevermind that! Where was I?* ---- Well, the movie was nice and all and the characters were good its just that, there are a few things or so-called plot twists that I didn't like. If I was to rate the movie from 1-10, I'd give it a 6 or 7. I think I'll end here... thank you for reading... :) SAYONARA!
P.S.
